Most of this index first appeared in 1976 as Part 1 of a larger index which was produced to accompany Volume 34,
issue #3. It was originally the result of the exhaustive labors of Hilda and Elmer Baldwin.
Many names of species have been changed since 1976. Names no longer current are given in square brackets.
Modern names are given in bold. Assume ‘P.’ for Primula before every species’ name. Extensive use has been made
of Richards (2003) in bringing the names up-to-date.
