The Dorothy Stredicke Dickson Memorial Award of the American Primrose Society shall be awarded to an individual deemed by the American Primrose Society’s Board as being worthy of recognition for their creative work of a pre-eminent nature in the advancement and understanding of primroses and / or outstanding contributions to the American Primrose Society. The American Primrose Society’s Dorothy Dickson Award Recipient will be awarded the Dorothy Dickson Medal.

The American Primrose Society’s National Show, sponsored by the New England Chapter, will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Little Compton Community Center, 34 Commons, Little Compton, Rhode Island from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Private events start on Friday, May 3 for American Primrose Society Members.
As the days grow longer and the warmth of the sun starts to seep into our gardens, it’s a sure sign that spring is upon us! This marks the beginning of our eagerly anticipated Primrose Show at the Community Center in Little Compton, RI and the adjacent Sakonnet Plant Fair at Veterans’ Field. It’s a time when our vibrant community of primrose enthusiasts comes together to celebrate the beauty and diversity of these beloved blooms.
We are thrilled to announce that preparations for our Spring Show are well underway. Whether you’re a seasoned exhibitor or a newcomer to the world of primrose cultivation, we encourage you to join us in showcasing the beauty and versatility of these enchanting flowers. Your participation not only adds to the richness of our event but also provides invaluable inspiration to fellow growers and enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing you there!

Have you ever wondered what the criteria for the judges are at an APS Show? Do you want to improve your chances of receiving a ribbon? Perhaps you would like to gain experience to qualify as a judge? Now is the time to attend the APS Training this Saturday, March 9th via Zoom, or in person if you are in Juneau, AK.
The first half of the training will be on Exhibiting your Primula; Hear tips and tricks from the experts, Ed Buyarski and Judith Sellers.
The second half will be a presentation on judging.
Deadline to join the Zoom Presentation is 11 pm March 8.
