How can I upload photographs?
Here are my tips for including pictures with your posts!
An important thing to bear in mind is upload limits: your image must be no larger than 1000 pixels by 1000 pixels. This may mean that you need to shrink your image before uploading. There is also a file size limit of 1MB. The file simply won't upload if you pass any of these limits - so check before you start. On a PC, if you hover your mouse over the image file, you should get a brief description of the file including the dimensions and size.
Place the cursor in your message where you want your image to go. My cursor is going here:
Sometimes it can be finicky. It works best if you place the image and then continue typing if you want more text afterwards. Also remember that files are often bigger than they seem. This file is about 400 pixels by 600 pixels and 191 KB, so if your image is bigger it will take up more of the screen.
Then select Browse... next to the empty field by 'Select image file to attach' at the bottom of the message. When you click this, you will be able to navigate your computer files to find your image. Once you've chosen your file, notice the button [img] to the right of the Browse... button. This is what you'll click when your cursor is where you want the image to go. It will add a bit of coding to the message to tell the computer where to look for your picture.
You won't actually see your picture until you Submit the message to the forum, but remember that you can go in and edit your messages after posting if it didn't come out exactly as you intended.
